I was watching a service and Pastor Bill Winston said that at the fall we (Adam) lost most of his connection with God. This made his life much harder than it needed to be.
This reminds me of a TV show I used to watch called The Greatest American Hero. Ralph (the main character), found the superhero suit and he read some of the instructions but lost the instruction book.
During the rest of the series he spent his time learning to use the suit as he went about fulfilling his purpose by fighting crime. He could not fly properly and he definitely crashed more than he landed. We do our version of this as we walk through life.
The Bible is our instruction book and we do not really read it enough. Instead we struggle (more than we need), to learn as we live.
Psalm 119:2-3
Blessed and favored by God are those who keep His testimonies,

They do no unrighteousness;
They walk in His ways.
Proverbs 30:5
Every word of God is tested and refined;
He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for instruction, for conviction, for correction, for training in righteousness;
