In Exodus the children of Israel were to pass through the wilderness on the way to the promise land. They were not supposed to stop and build permanent structures or make their home in the wilderness.
God made provision for the Israelites to last them during their journey. He did not provide the manna, quail and water indefinitely for them to stay in the dry place.
After their time in the desert dried up so did the specific provisions.
Sometimes we go though situations in life and we stop at the challenges as we become weary, angry, bitter and or discouraged. But we need to push through and persevere.
He has provided for us at the different stages of our journey. However, each levels provision will not remain once our season at that stage is over.
Take the next step, do not build in the desert.
“Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.’
