Construction Closure (Part One)

I was driving to the library and the street that I needed to turn unto was was blocked 0ff. It had a sign that indicated, “Closed due to construction September 8, 2009 until January 12, 2011.

Our city had to close the road for a long time in order to fix it and make it better. Before construction the road was operational and it was adequate at that size for a time, but the city had grown and changed.

The road, while still functioning and usable had not been adapted to the change around it.

Change Is A Part of Life

If the city was not willing to close it for a period of time and make the changes, the city would eventually suffer because of the roads inadequacies.

This is the same with us. Our current skill levels, and exposure may be great for where we were and are. However the status quo most likely will not be enough for where we want to go in life in order to fulfil our destinies.

In the Bible, Joseph as the son of Jacob learned to read and write. At Potipher’s house he learned to manage a household of that size in a foreign land. This was all preparation for him as Joseph later became the Governor of Egypt.

While he was under construction he was betrayed, became a slave, was sold and later imprisoned. The mess of his life made it look like he was going backward instead of forward.

It was all in preparation. His capacity to manage people and property increased.

There will be times when we need to be patient and understand that sometimes we will not look like we are moving forward even though we are.

God will turn everything around for our good.

Read His Word, keep doing what His Word says and think of other times in your past when you did not see Him at work in your life. However you later realized He was with you during trying and or growth periods.

There does come the day when the construction for a particular project is over.

Get ready for the blessings of increased capacity!
